ReCARES

Free distribution of durable medical equipment and home health care supplies (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, canes, incontinence supplies, braces, shower chairs) to individuals in need at three Bay Area locations (Oakland, San Francisco, Marin). No appointment, ID, or insurance required; distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Accepts donations of no-longer-needed durable medical equipment and home health care supplies (e.g., wheelchairs, transport chairs, walkers, braces, adult diapers, blood pressure machines) at three Bay Area sites to be cleaned, sanitized, and redistributed.

Referral system for larger durable medical equipment such as hospital beds, lifts, trapezes, and reclining chairs through the ReCARES Large DME Referral System.

Connects clients to partner organizations (e.g., The Center for Independent Living, NorCAL Spinal Cord Injury Foundation, Able Closet) for electric wheelchairs, scooters, and pediatric assistive equipment.

Referral to Bay Area Cancer Connections for cancer-related supplies including literature, wigs, soft hats, scarves, and breast prostheses.

Refers individuals to Breathe California of the Bay Area, Golden Gate, and Central Coast for CPAP and BiPAP machines and supplies.

Refers to Diabetics Pay It Forward and Insulin For Life for diabetes supplies including syringes, insulin, test strips, lancets, pumps, and pump supplies.

Referral to Friends of Ostomates Worldwide for ostomy pouching systems, rings, barrier films, and drainage bags.

Connects individuals to TubieLoved Support & Supplies Exchange Group for feeding tube supplies.

Referral to VIDA for various additional medical equipment and supplies.
